Templates are a convenient way to configure document-specific user interface settings. They can be used to configure almost any non-global interface setting.
To create a Template, you can use a current audio file or simply create a new, empty file. Configure the document window as desired and select File > Save As Template... and name it in the "Save As Template" dialog.
Attributes such as time units and trim/threshold preview settings are also saved with Templates. Document window settings are saved with native Wave Editor files. The Default Template applies only to new documents and non-native Wave Editor files such as AIFF or WAVE files.
You may create an unlimited number of Templates. To apply a Template to any open Wave Editor document simply go to Window > Apply Template and select from the list.
To set the default template, choose Wave Editor > Preferences > Document and select a Default Template from the pop-up menu.
To create a new document and apply a specific Template, choose File > New and select a Template from the menu.
Templates are portable, so you can send them to your friends or post them online to share. The original template files are all stored in /Users/<your home directory>/Library/Application Support/Audiofile/Wave Editor/Templates . If you copy a Template to this directory, it will be available in Wave Editor.
The following options are global to Wave Editor, which means they are not saved within individual Templates:
