Generator

The Generator is a utility for creating fundamental waveforms. It can create sine, square, sawtooth and triangle waves of any frequency, as well as white and pink noise.

To create a tone using the Generator

1. Choose Window > Generator
2. Select a waveform from the "Waveform" pop-up menu.
3. Enter a specific frequency value in the "Frequency" text box (not available for white and pink noise).
4. Enter a specific level (dB) value in the "Level" text box.
5. Select the desired sample rate from the "Sample rate" pop-up menu. The pop-up contains a list of industry-standard sample rates. Enter custom values in the text box.
6. Select the desired number of channels from the "Channels" pop-up menu.
7. Enter the desired length in "Length" text box.
8. Choose an action in the "Action" pop-up menu. Available actions are: create new file, paste, or paste into new Layer.
9. Click the "Generate" button.
