Backline Calc Initial Thoughts

I purchased the full version of Backline Cal today. Here of my first thoughts:
I love Audiofile Engineering - Having purchased Wave Editor (which is superb!) & FiRe (also brilliant!). I do think the calculation available on the software are good - however I would like to see some more complex calculations added in future releases.
For example - It would be fantastic to have more acoustic calculation available. I personally am desperately looking for an application which can work out things like room acoustics - based on size of room and absorbency of materials in the room for example.
Aside from that - great application and hope to see future calculations added to the app.
cheers!

Yes, I bought it to and it looks nice. But we need support for the metric system! Those feets and inches makes no sense to me.

Excellent feedback. Expect metric support in 1.0.1. Please post any more ideas you have for other calculators!

I checked through the formulas for reverb calculation and in this context they'd be a little too intense. The thing that's really impossible is to describe the room shape, which calculates the volume which is crucial to the result. We'd be able to do rooms that are cube-like, but nothing like real life.
What really needs to happen is to have a calculator for RT60 that's a different context altogether... hmm....

Like the App! Can you add conversion to samples as a unit?
eg. eigth notes at 120bpm and 44.1khz = 2756 1/4 Samples (hope thats right

Chris / Matthew
Just installed Backline Calc on iPhone4. Great little app. However, whilst I see that I can Sum Times, but being able to subtract times would also be more use to me. Sometimes I need to calculate how much more audio I can put into a certain time frame. For example, if I need 65:30 of audio and I currently have 37:23, I'd like to be able to subtract 37:23 from 65:30.
Also, I'm sure there are a lot of users that would benefit from being able to re-arrange all of the group items. For instance, I use mainly those at the bottom of the list, I'd like to be able to move them to the top for easier accessibility. Perhaps being able to create a 'Favourites' group or similar.

FYI, we're converting Backline Calc to being a fully iAd-supported free app. The update will be submitted to Apple today or tomorrow and hopefully post next week.

Great work, as usual. This is one of the reasons people should purchase apps (not just iPhone apps, but WE etc) from developers. The level of service that goes into app support can only be maintained by users purchasing (rather than 'sharing') these extremely well priced apps. One of the best things Audiofile did, was to drop the apps from the higher prices back to the $79 mark.
