Buffer problems with iPhone3G

This is my first post here and I would like to start by saying that FiRe is an awesome concept. I love the waveform views, markers and level meters being active during both recording and monitoring. This is a very practical app and clearly marketed to those who are familiar with professional gear.

However, there is one thing that is preventing this app from being by preferred iPhone recording solution. I have noticed that I am getting random glitches akin to buffer under runs. This sounds very similar to setting a recording buffer size too small on a professional DAW except that it is not consistent. It will record ok for a minute or two then start to glitch. If I leave it recording, it then comes good but starts glitching again if left recording.

Is it possible to add a menu in the settings to adjust the hardware record buffer?

I get this error whether I have the iPhone in airplane mode or normal mode and it happens even if I reboot and launch the app immediately after the reboot. It also happens whether I am using addon hardware (Belkin GoStudio) or the iPhone internal mic. I'm running iPhone OS 2.2.1

Regards,
Dannii.

Hi Chris,

Just wondering if you got my email? I haven't received a response yet.
Also, I just updated my iPhone to OS3 and this version of FiRe does not work with it. The interface loads but screen redraws and interface response are practically non existent and it won't record or play at all.

Hopefully you guys are busy working on updates. smiling smiley

Regards,
Dannii.

If you have updated to iPhone OS 3, you will need version 1.1 which is still awaiting approval from Apple. See: [www.audiofile-engineering.com]

Thanks Matthew. The issues I was having were with OS 2.2.1 and FiRe V1. Hopefully V 1.1 with OS3 fixes these buffer issues.

Come on Apple. Hurry up with your approval process!!
